How long a bar of soap lasts depends on how often it’s used and how it’s stored. With proper care, most of our bar soaps last several weeks to a couple of months for daily use.
What affects soap longevity
- Frequency of use — more frequent use means the bar will wear down faster.
- Water exposure — soap that sits in water dissolves more quickly.
- Storage — allowing the bar to dry between uses helps it last longer.
How to make your bar last longer
- Store your soap on a well-draining soap dish.
- Keep it out of direct streams of water.
- Let the bar dry fully between uses.
- Cut larger bars in half and use one piece at a time.
- Use a washcloth or loofah when bathing.
Is it normal for natural soap to soften?
Yes. Natural bar soaps can feel softer than commercial detergent bars, especially in humid environments. This doesn’t mean the soap is defective—it simply means it needs better airflow between uses. Remember, our soaps are preserved with Vitamin E only, and therefore do not have the same chemical composition as other commercial, non-natural alternatives.
