Our products don’t typically “go bad” or spoil in the way food does, but they can change over time depending on how they’re stored and used.
Because we use natural ingredients and avoid synthetic preservatives, some changes in scent, texture, or appearance can happen gradually. This is normal and doesn’t necessarily mean a product is unsafe or unusable.
Bar Soaps
Bar soap has an excellent shelf life. When kept in a cool, dry place, unused bars can last for years. Over time, you may notice:
- Scent becoming lighter or softer
- The bar becoming harder as water continues to evaporate
These changes don’t affect how well the soap cleans.
Other body care products
Products like balms, butters, and mists have a shorter shelf life than soap. Exposure to heat, moisture, or repeated contact with wet hands can shorten their usable life.
How to keep products fresh
- Store products away from heat and direct sunlight.
- Keep lids tightly closed when not in use.
- Avoid introducing water into jars or containers.
When to stop using a product
If a product develops an unusual smell, visible mold, or a drastic change in texture, it’s best to stop using it.
