Traditional bar soap made from saponified oils naturally breaks down over time when exposed to water and environmental conditions. Because our recipes rely on simple oils, butters, clays, and essential oils, they do not persist in the environment the way some synthetic ingredients can.

What biodegradable means in this context

Biodegradable means that ingredients can be broken down by natural processes into simpler substances. Most of the ingredients we use in our soaps and solid products fall into this category.

Packaging considerations

While the products themselves are largely biodegradable, packaging materials vary by product. We continue to look for ways to reduce waste and choose packaging options that balance product protection, safety, and environmental impact.

Environmental conditions, local water systems, and usage all affect how quickly materials break down. No product breaks down instantly, but we choose ingredients with environmental responsibility in mind.
